Extreme weather

We are currently at La Rosaleda, Conil, Cadiz. We have just sat out some really exteme weather with monsoon rain and hailstones 1/2 inch across. We sat it out in the caravan watching in amazement as the hailstones bounced off the van. It was like sitting
inside a snare drum.

When it stops I will have to inspect the van for damage and the car. Is it claimable on insurance??

If you've got comprehensive cover, then yes.  Contact your insurance company immediately if there is damage.

A bit off topic perhaps. But I remember tha twe had just left a site near Kelsall in Cheshire when apparently a storm hit. Probably Summer. My F-I-Law was also affected as he lived in Oscroft near Tarvin. The hail was almost the size of golf balls. Many cars damaged. His green house had no glass left and a hailstone broke through the double glazed window in his bathroom and cracked the wash basin!! Don'tknow if any folk were injured.

It is covered but normally it is cosmetic damage only. It depends on how bad it is whether it is worth claiming and losing any no claims you may have.

We had really bad damage to our car, £8000 and the caqravan too, I went out during storm that was in france and ended up with a golf ball size bump on my forehead and concussion too, so not worth trying to cover anything up, it shredded the tent to bits
that was on the pitch next to us.  Our insurance paid up with no questions asked.
