Hi All, The plan for 2017 is coming together and our travel companions are arriving on 1/12 for final planning.

Looking to go to Beziers and the Dordogne, and have some sites in mind, but looking for recommendations for Pont D'Arc as there seems quite a choice!

Want a pool and a good restaurant is a bonus, but most other things are options.

We will have Camping Cheques and ACSI card so if anyone has used sites where we can use these all the better.

Thanks.

We stayed at Camping Arc En Ciel  last June for a couple of days...like all the sites in the area it was virtually empty at that time of year. From memory there were about 10 campers on the site plus a few seasonal chalets.

Very pleasant, we don't normally do circus sites but the pool was open and the restaurant seemed to do a reasonable trade.

Eu 42.44 for MH and 2 persons for 2 nights.

Sorry, can't post live links on this site!

PS. Your expected travel dates may help?

We stopped for a few days at Camping International just across the river from Vallons. Nice site with access to the town and a bus ride away from the 'Pont'. Small pool and bar/restaurant. ACSI discount in low season. We picked a shady pitch overlooking the river, but the sound of the weir lost its charm after a while!

We've stayed at a variety of sites in Vallon and area over the years.  Initially we always used L'Ardechois in Vallon (out of peak season when prices were more reasonable) then stayed at Le Mondial (next door to L'Ardechois) and also at the site featured
in ChasNCath's post, above, Les Ranchisses, and Ranc Davaine, plus others!   All of them were fine and suited us - but not everyone would find them suitable so these days I'm a bit reluctant to actually recommend one site over another because I had my fingers
burned in the past.  I recommended a site, which we love, and which others love, but received a very nasty personal email from someone who stayed there and said my review had ruined his holiday and it was the worst site he'd ever stayed ................!

There are a lot of ACSI sites in the area and most of them have good reviews.  I would be inclined to have a good look through them all before meeting up with your friends in early December, and comparing the reviews with recommendations on here - but from
experience this year, both at the early  part of the season (May/June) and then again in late August, you will have absolutely no problems finding a pitch.

There are loads of good restaurants within walking distance of many of the Vallon sites, or of those in Ruoms - so you can take your pick, unless you really want a good restaurant on site.  From our experience one of the best campsite restaurants was Domaine
Les Ranchisses - where the locals use the restaurant (but our stay there was quite a long time ago) and the site no longer takes either Camping Cheques or the ACSI Card.

There are few Camping Cheques sites now.  Though we actually store our caravan on one of them.  However, it's outside of Vallon in a quiet country area, and though there are restaurants in walking distance, it's along a busy road.  The site does have a bar/take-away
and each weekend does a theme meal.  It's a very French site, with a small pool but we like it there, though it's very quiet in low season it does get busy during peak season with families, but again at the latter end of the season we were one of very few
    occupied pitches.

Sorry I can't pin down a particular site to actually recommend!

Should have said that the holida will be in May/June. Beau Rivage and Mondial look good as both on the river and have a pool.

    Thanks for suggestions so far.

    Hi,

    We stayed here: http://camping-des-gorges.com/uk/formulaire.php

The site backs right onto La Pont d'Arc.
