Travelling with a dog
We are travelling down to portugal in March we are going via caen. I would like to know if anyone has any experience of dog friendly hotels firstly in le mans then somewhere about 6 hours down. it needs to be dog friendly and ideally not far from the main
routes down? any help/tips would be much appreciated.

I have an idea that most hotels in France are tolerant of dogs - meaning they allow them in bedrooms - but I don't what else you hope to have to turn dog tolerant into dog friendly.
I would just choose a hotel of your own liking and price range from a website such as Booking.com , first in Le Mans and then in the next town, and e.mail them to check on taking a dog. But say whether you have a small dog or a big one. That might make a difference.

Can I ask what may seem to be a silly question? If you have a caravan or motorhome why do you need a hotel?
Haven't crossed the channel with a dog but I take it you've sussed out how the dog travels whilst on the ferry?. I seem to recall that crossing being about six hours?

This chain (similar to Best Western) has many many dog friendly hotels.
Have you considered Brittany Ferries to Santander ?
