Winter travel to cold climate
I know that most people usually travel South during the winter months but we are planning to travel to Austria/Switzerland in February 2017 (don't ask) and as this will be my first time in a cold climate, I was hoping that someone could give me some guidance as to what I should be aware of e.g. frozen aquaroll etc. I know about vet requirements for our dogs returning to the UK and have tried to foresee the obvious climate problems but I would appreciate ideas of other travellers on this one. Thanks.

Ensure you have access to plenty of propane gas.
Some sites meter electricity and it will be very expensive if they do. The locals use a lot of gas instead.
You will need a refillable bottle, or a local one, depending on how long you are going for.
You may also require winter tyres.

Forget your aquaroll: no amount of lagging will stop it freezing. Use a plastic bucket for grey water waste and empty the ice daily: don't use a wastehog or you'll never get the ice out of it. Take a 1 kw fan heater to give background heat as your electricityc supply may be limited to 10 amps.
Have a supply of fresh water on board to drink and water to flush the loo. Keep blinds closed on shaded side and open on the sunward side to maximise the greenhouse effect

Thanks for your help with my query. I appreciate your assistance with this as there's always someone who has more experience to pass on. I follow the usual tyre rules and advice for summer months but I must admit that I had forgotten about the winter tyres.
Great idea about the background heat too.0
