Sites near Caen

We are planning on the crossing Portsmout/Caen for next year.  The cheapest option is the mid afternoon crossing which means arriving in France just as darkness falls.  Can anyone recommend a site close to Caen which accepts late arrivals from the ferry?
We do not want to trave too far or struggle to find our way in the dark.  An ideal site would be one where we can drive in and not have to unhitch and make a lot of noise.

Camping Riva Bella is 500 metres from the ferry. The Camping and Caravanning Club has an objective description of it on their reservations page, but there is no need to ask them to book for you. There are recent reviews on UKCampsite.co.uk

Thanks David. I know you have more recent experience of that site than I have -  we have transferred our allegiance from Ouistreham to Roscoff.

We love the Roscoff crossing but it is a long drive to the Lot which is our preferred area.

I don't know if you have chosen your site yet in the Lot but we really enjoyed Ruisseau du Treile in Larnagol this year. It is only a small site but has a bar and swimming pool.

We also use the recommended site at Ouistreham.

Using Roscoff for the first time next year. Touring Brittany. Out to Roscoff back from Ouistreham worked out cheaper then Roscoff return

Riva Bella are currently refurbishing the sanitaries so should be a long overdue improvement, spacious pitches often without having to unhitch if you look around. As per previous post easy five minutes from ferry and usually the reception are quick to book
