Portugal in Spring

Been to Portugal a few times (by air) but would like to go with van around spring time.  Not bothered about routes, tolls, sites etc but just wondered if anyone had been in spring time and is it as beautiful as I've read?

    It's too far for us now, but Spring in Portugal was one of our favourite destinations. Indeed, Alvor was the inspiration for our first ever 'Postcard'

    Thanks for responses.  Weather wouldn't be a problem I was really interested in the flora, fauna and wildlife.  Would probably travel inland and not go much further south of Lisbon
