Overnight stop on the A75

Hi, we are travelling down to Perpignan next year. We travelled down to the south this year using the A75 stopping over night at Milau after stopping for one night in Orleans. However we found the distance from Orleans to Milau, nearly seven hours, just
a bit to far. Can anyone suggest a suitable overnight stop near to the A75 about hour or so from Millau, so we have about four hours or so to continue to the area of Perpignan. Advice would be appreciate. Thanks.

We've stayed at Severac le Chateau, but that probably isn't far enough north for you.  There is a site near La Canourgue, Camping La Mothe, which might suit for an overnight stop as t is very convenient for the autoroute, or alternatively the Muncipal site at Canilhac, on the route towards St Laurent d'Olt.  This one is just a little further from the motorway.  Each is just a few minutes more than an hour north of Millau.  We haven't stayed at either of these.

Try the municipal site at St Just (Cantal) - two or three miles from the A75 at junction 31 - details and recommendation in the Club site guide. But several others listed along that highway  - do you have that book?

This is  a nice site not far south of Clermont Ferrand
    Camping Municipal le Pont d’Allagnon
It is quite close to the A75.

Write your comments here...I'd second this one. The site is also handy for walking into town for a well earned beer or meal.

Camping Municipal Du Mas at Issoire is about 200 miles from Orleans and 120 miles from Millau and is only about a mile off of the A75

Camping Roche Murat at St Flour fits the bill. Easy access and not too far south.

I stayed on a nice site near Issoire, Chateau de Grange Fort, it's ACSI if it's the right time of year. But there are loads around there.

La Grande Soulogne at Nouan-le-fuzelier is 295 miles from Millau but all motorway. Can be soft in parts after heavy rain but otherwise we liked it.

I stayed here this year, a quality Municipal with walks alongside the adjacent lakeside.  It is just off Junction 12.
