Sanef tag (again)
I bought a tag in January and validated it when we received it. Unfortunately we've been unable to use it so far but are planning to visit France in Nov/Dec. Will it work after this gap? Should I ring up to check? Anyone had similar experience?

Got my ATMB tag last September but didn't get around to using it until August this year. Worked a treat.

As we are on the subject of these Tag,s. I drive to Spain from Calais and Croatia through Francea, always out of season and never have to go through more than 6/7 tolls in 800 miles. Just wondering how many times people who have them accualy use them? Is it 6/7 or 20/30? Please remember this is only a question not and barb.

We decided to use A'routes more often to enable journeys to be quicker/easier, reducing pressure on OH, the driver. This decision
followed a nightmare journey last year between Calais and St. Quentin - various holdups, diversions, traffic etc. It would have been a doddle on A26. So, we got a tag so I don't have to lean out of the window (difficult for various reasons) and hope/pray
I don't drop the debit card. Even if it does not get much use it will be worth it to us.0 -
Counting entries as well as exits, I would say about 30 times this year but this is higher than normal because we have done two trips. There is no way OH can reach the ticket machine from our motorhome so it is a great asset. I just wish that the 30 kph
automatic gates were more frequent as the sensors are very quick whereas sometimes with the fixed barrier you have to drive right up to it before the tag is recognised.0 -
We went for four weeks in July this year, using the tag for the first time, and it was used 10 times in the month.
It might have been used more but we spent a considerable amount of time in Brittany and all motorways there are free.
This is the video I made - https://youtu.be/zRosz3EPtGM

Write your comments here...from memory you come off one autoroute A26, then access the bypasss, come off that then go onto another autoroute A4 so thats 4 entries/exits off A26/on bypass/off bypass/on A4, but its been a couple of years since I did it so
may be wrong.0 -
We passed around Reims on Saturday. Generally in France you only get a toll station when there is a free section and although most of the new Reims bypass is a péage I think there is a short free section. I am sure this is a change from last year as previiously I noticed lorries turning off to go on the old road through Reims which is quite a bit shorter to avoid paying for the privilege of a longer route.

We last used our Sanef tag in July 2015 and we're off to the Somme area of France over the New Year - certainly expecting it to work. The battery life expectancy is around 7 years if I remember correctly.
When you get your statement on line it also gives you Your battery condition, if it fails going through a mand peage they will sort it out there.
