France Aug/Sept
We travelled to France late August up to the 15th of September this year. We did not know what to expect as we had always gone in June. Well we was pleasantly suprised , the weather was 47 for most of a week, second week lower in temperature and the third
week we had some rain. The pitches were more or less soil as the grass had worn away and when it did rain it was a bit muddy. We Stayed in Baden and we found this area lovely Auray was a lovely town, our second site was in Benodet a site we had previously
seen and decided to stay again lovely. Our third site was in Concarneau again we have stayed on this site twice before but as we like the area we decided to stay here again. The ferry back from Roscoff was not full so the 6 hrs back was peaceful and quiet.
Only been back a few days but missing France already. Even though we had good weather we think June is the best time for us to Visit. Our Vet who we saw last year in Concarneau charged us 74.16 euro for the two dogs and we took our own worming tablets ..

That is very expensive - please name and shame.
We were charged €22 for our Border Collie this year and the Vet supplied the tablet at Mailleraye sur Seine and the process took 4 minutes.

The problem with June is that it is the best month to go almost everywhere in the Northern hemisphere; we have a long list wish! We got back yesterday from France, Italy, Switzerland and were very lucky with the weather. Often September has a run-down feel
and the evenings are short.0 -
September is a great time to be in France, but I think you need to be south of the Loire. I worked in Provence and the Languedoc for many years and found September to be very settled & pleasant weather

We are in France for the first time in September in Burgundy and now the Jura. The temperature has been higher than I expected at nearly 30 most days for the first two weeks and now just comfortable in a tee shirt. We did have three days continuous rain
before the temperature fell but the thing I find strange is that in ten days in the Jura we haven't seen another British car. The only draw back is the shorter days. I am used to May here and light until we go to bed. To day eight o'clock and it is dark.0
