North Sea Ferries (Hull)
Anyone know if bookings for May 2017 are open yet?

I noticed June 2017 prices were on the P&O web site and I had a webchat with someone from the club last week. She mentioned that P&O would be discussng 2017 pricing early September and should be avialable to book October some time
I was looking at prices last week and over web chat asked about prices for Stenna and was told that at the moment the only prices that are discounted are with Brittany Ferries.
I made the enquiry as the price for the BF crossing was a massive saving over going direct,as it usually is with an ITX fare, but Harwich-Hook was coming out at over £100 more than we paid last year.
I was also told that most discounts would become available in September for 2017 crossings.

Its also eyewatering with just a car.
Even if Dover/Calais were free I would not use it from the north (I would consider the western routes depending upon destination) the drive down there is appalling and the drive back after the holiday is even worse.
Throw in over 9,000 people illegally attempting to enter the UK and adopting ever increasing desperate methods, personally I would give Calais a wide berth as better alternatives exist.
If I could not afford / did not want the Hull crossing I would quite happily stay in the UK.

I would never go done to Dover etc, it's so much easier to use NSF, the overnight crossings means your holiday starts as soon as you get on, a relaxing drink a very nice meal in the brasserie, some entertainment, arriving next morning refreshed and easy
exit, great way to start an holiday from the North, its not always about getting the cheapest crossing deal,0 -
We always used to use the longer crossings, Hull included, when we were working. Because as mentioned, it provides a nice start to the holiday despite the price. This was particularly the case when you only have two weeks, as you are ready for a days driving
as soon as you land. Since we retired and go for much longer these factors are not as important. Last time we went we booked some discount, non refundable tickets, through the CC with DFDS Dover-Calais. We are planning on going abroad next year but given the
situation in Calais, will opt for a longer crossing. As has been mentioned on CT the main problems occur at night. However, who knows what the situation will be in 6 months and we want to book ahead.0 -
If anybody is interested in using the Hull - Zeebrugge route during September there is a 20% discount code which is NSLAST20. This can also be used on weekend sailings together with the £90 off caravans code CV1. Just used both and they work.

The Club website offers as good a deal as you can get with other ferry offers. For booking meals (why would you not eat?) you need the phone call to the Club centre, where deals not available on the web site is available.
Suugest booking via the Club phone - quick, cheaper, and you get all the things done as once.
Use it twice a year - never fails

Write your comments here...Sorry in this case, that wasn't correct and you cannot make bookings through th CC evenings and weekends most of the year. On line you can.

In regard to booking via the Club website or over the phone my advice would be to always check over the phone. You cannot assume that any deals you, or anyone else, has had previously will be available or as good and being able to make comparisons having
asked questions of the agent has been beneficial for us.One simple example is that a booking with Camping Cheques requires a minimum of seven booked online to get an ITX fare but over the phone it's only three.
Another option is the web chat but having used it twice last week after it 'popped up' whilst checking ferry prices I personally will stick with the phone to make the final confirmation and booking unless, and it has happened to me, there are advantages
to booking online.0
