Sites near Calais
We are going to France in September and we usually use Bien Assize for a stop-over going and returning, but I see they are closed before the end of September.
We tend to use ACSI sites and wanted an alternative for a couple of nights.
Has anyone used Mun L'Olympic near Wimeraux? From the reviews, it looks a bit 'basic'?
Mun La Falaise (south of Boulogne) looks nice, but sounds to be very hilly and uneven. Also a bit far from Calais.
St Louis gets very good reviews. A bit off route, but maybe worth it if it's as good as the reviews?
Pommiers des Trois Pays we once looked at and didn't really like it.
Just wondered what your thoughts were?

I have used 'Mun L'Olympic' twice in 2014 and 2015. It is basic and ideal for short term, some pitches are a little tight for manoeuvring without a motor mover so choose carefully, and the toilet/showers are a little past their use by date but clean.
As for food you can try Wimeraux or do as we did and visit the nearby non ACSI site of 'L Ete Indien' a few 100 metres south, fantastic pizza we got as a takeaway and brought it back to the site.
This year was 'Chateau du Gandspette' but obviously we were coming from Luxembourg direction, excellent site.
Both are a 25/35 minute travel to Calais.

We have used St Louis for some years and over the last two years has much improved over the dire mess the previous owners made of it at the end of their tenure. The two girls running it now seem determined to get it right. We are going back again this September

In days gone by when we went via Calais we often stayed at Camping Fort Lapin at Bleriot Plage. I can't give you up to date information but there are favourable 2014 reviews on UK campsite and on Trip Advisor. The site is open till the end of October.

There are alternatives to ACSI sites, IanH
We tend to use Les Epinettes, very close to Calais. A very recent thread about it here: http://www.caravanclub.co.uk/community/discussions/sites-touring/overseas-sites-touring/Great-site-near-Calais/rt/1533489/
Sorry, tablet won't let me do a link, like I can on the laptop

There are lots of sites around Calais that are suitable for an overnight or short stay, like the one mentioned my Ina above. However they are proably very different from Bien Assise.

Dave - how was L Ete Indien? Was it expensive? Is a walk into Wimeraux?
As mentioned Ian, we only called in to get a takeway Pizza to take back to Mun L'Olympic, from what we saw it had all the facilities you would expect and the pitches we could see were more spacious.
We have also walked into Wimeroux, all down hill and a 'slog' coming back, about a mile return, the sea front is nice but everything closed early which is why we decided on a takeaway.
