Hi Aussie Mick. If you are an experienced motorhomer you will probably know about ACSI and their reduced rates for off season. If not, have a look
HERE
One thing I would say is that if you visit France after mid September, check your chosen site is still open. Many of them close mid to the end of September although if you are in a motorhome you will still have plenty of
aires available across France.0 -

Hi Mick.
Four years ago now, the missus and I rocked up in London cashed up to actually buy a car (Subaru Forester) and an 18' caravan.
That year, in 2013, we cut our teeth to UK camping, enjoying the exercise, going back in 2014 to Spain and Portugal for three months and catching up with Pommie mates we'd made friends with the year before.
2015 saw us enjoying time once more camping at rallies in various locations around Britain, also taking in northern Italy at a rally there.
Basically, the time we spent there was fantastic.
My missus begged me almost to keep coming back each year, catching up with the great people we'd got to know there, but our daughter has decided to go to Canada to live and work so now we are gearing up to spend up to six months each year there instead.
If you're going back and forth to Britain and Europe for a couple of months or longer each year, the cheaper option may be to buy over there and just store the rig at a depot . . . . about $1000 a year to do so.
Anyhow mate, you're the best one to know your own particular set of circumstances and be the best judge, but it worked out for us.
In the three years we spent up to six months each time there, we ended up selling our rig for $7,500 less what we paid for it . . . . . so accomodation for the six months was about $2,500 a time + costs.
