Am at the beginning of planning a trip to New Zealand.

We are motorhomers and looking to either ship our van there or rent a van for about 6 months.

Any advice tips experiences welcome.

I agree with Deleted UserUser.  You'd be better negotiating a deal for a 6 month hire.  I expect shipping your own m/h would be very costly.  We did the North Island two years ago, it was great.  Most of the NZ motorhome hire companies are based at Auckland airport
(probably at Christchurch too).  They run shuttle services to/from their depot (about a mile away).  If you have a problem with your hired m/h they will fix it (imagine getting your own m/h fixed).  The roads are good, the people friendly and stunning views
are common.  You'll have a wonderful time.
