Help needed - first trip to Switzerland with motorhome

We have just changed from a caravan to a motorhomany and are thinking of taking it to Switzerland, any problems we need to look out for please we are thinking of taking our dog with us as well. Thank you

    Switzerland has two different charging systems for using their motorways and tunnels depending on whether your vehicle is rated as over or under 3500kg. Which is it?

    We're off through Switzerland on our way to Italy next week and looking to be there for around a wk, maybe more if the weather behaves :-).

    We've not booked anything, so taking it as we go to be honest.

    All I know, it's going to be expensive, but I want my daughter to experience the beauty of the country and the stunning landscape.

    I've only been as a teenager, quite some time ago and never in a motorhome, so not sure what to expect on that front.

    I'll let you know how we get on.

    There's no way Switzerland is ever going to be cheap. Make sure that you take advantage of whatever transport passes are available in the area where you stay, these do help keep the cost of getting into the mountains within bounds. Last year we had a 10
    day Berner Oberland Regional  Pass and reckon that we'd have spent 3 times what it cost on the journeys we did.

    Hi

    We "only" use Switzerland as a transit stop when en route to Italy. You will need a motorway tax sticker - called a vignette if your motorhome is 3500kg or less. Over this weight, and you need a paper document.

    Details of tolls here.

    We have crossed Switzerland with a dog - no issue.

    We love the mountain passes and always try to drive over a couple. Favourite one was the Julier Pass in February - stunningly whire!

    That's useful, thanks. We're 3650kh, so need the 15.91 form.

    I take it I can print a copy downloaded from the FCA website and fill it in ready, or would I need to use an official document on the day?
