Anyone stayed near Trujillo, Spain?

We are planning to visit Spain in September and go from Salamanca to Seville, stoppingin Trujillo on the way, in our motorhome. However I cannot see a campsite in/near Trujillo. Has anyone else visited? if so, where did you stay?

    From what I have seen most people just park up beside the bullring, plenty of room.

    Thanks for this info. I had read about parking by the bullring but was not sure if it would be safe, we haven't visited this region before. I like the idea of visiting the Vulture colony at Salto Gitano.

    When we are in that area we stay at Camping Merida (ACSI).  From there you can visit Merida, Caceras and Trujillo.  We are in a caravan so getting to the latter two is easy for us.  The Vultures are worth seeing.  Also nearby'ish is Ciudad Rodrigo worth
    a stop for a couple of nights, the site is walking distance from the town; the road south (CL 526) direction Plasencia is fine, we have done it towing our 7m caravan.

    If you stop for a night or two at Camping Monfrague you can go on a guided tour of the park, see and photograph the vultures and if you're lucky see a pair of Spanish Imperial Eagles.

    ..We looked at staying at Merida earlier this year but was put off by the reviews, is it OK?   we stayed at Caceras but never got to Merida.

    Tammygirl.  Camping Merida is fine.  Most of the pitches have their own 'hut' containg a wc, basin and washing up facilities. Large motorhomes are pitched at the top of the site.  Pool ok and bar/restaurant not bad.  Merida is only a few ks down the road,
    well worth a visit for it's roman remains especially the theatre complex.

    Doesn't sound like the site on ACSI - Eurocampings website - & doesn't accept ACSI Discount Card.  Very bad reviews which mention dirty toilet blocks - not individual cabins.  Caceres has individual cabins.

    Thanks, that sounds very much like the site we stayed on at Caceres.  Geejay seems to think its the same one tooUndecided

    Woops; sorry got my sites mixed up!  Camping Merida is in CC book.  However, it is ok and convenient for Merida.

    ..Thanks for coming backSmile, might have a look at it next year then as the Merida itself gets quite good reports just the site didn't have
    great reviews.
