Thinking of going to Austria, Germany maybe down to Lake Constance next year. Have picked up looking at a few posts, something about the romantic route. Any further info? Any ideas of most visit sites, places.

We have only been in France so far. We have a motor home.

Have a look at our trip here this year and in the past 13 years we have made three visits to the Romantichestraße.

Over all we have been many more times over the last 40 years.it is a wonderful experience as is all of Austria and Germany.  If you have any questions please ask will be glad to help.

With a MH if you want to stop on a campsite Tauber Idyll is the better with transport within 0.5 Kim's of the site.  It is situated in the attractive village of Detwang on the edge of the old city.

Useful website for the Straße here

We covered the RR in February, theres a few pics and a video here.

We have also documented a good number of the low cost stellplatz along the route.

I initially thought I woulde like to travel this route on our way to Italy but one thing worries me with a older motorhome is passing through towns which may operate the German low Emissisions Zone and mine I think qualifies for a yellow badge so may run
    into trouble

The only town along the Romantische Strasse that requires a low emissions sticker is Augsburg.
