    We've been in 2 berth cabins on the Pont Aven and pet friendly 4 berth cabins on Cap Finistere.  The 4 berth are roomier with 2 bunks at floor level as opposed to the smaller 2 berth cabins with one bunk above the other, which my wife found a bit claustrophobic,
    but I thought was fine.  The 4 berth was on the outside so had a window.  Both types have excellent showers/wc/basins with towels and soap.  If you want a pet friendly cabin be quick as they soon sell out.

    You can plug in a kettle if you have a continental adaptor.  I think there's a microwave in/near the self-service where you can get food & drink.  There's a couple of bars and also a good restaurant.  Some folk also take their own pillows as the BF ones
    are a bit thin.  If you don't like your cabin too warm turn down the thermostat as soon as you go in. 

    We only sleep in the cabin so a delux one isn't for us, but some people like the extra luxury.  There's plenty of seating areas, tv and "entertainment", as well as wifi which can be a bit hit and miss as it relies on satellite.  Take a book on board but
    not too much stuff as you have to carry it all with you.

    Have a look at the BF Enthusiasts forum (http://forums.bfenthusiasts.com) as they seem to know everything there is to know about BF and post a question about the delux cabins.

    One other point, when you book make sure they have your mobile number and keep your phone on as you travel to the port in case there are any delays etc, and they'll text you.

    Can't help about the Cap Finistere, but we enjoyed the Pont Aven when we went over in April this year to Santander. Its a good big ship and even has a small swimming pool. It actually felt a little like a cruise ship (small one) there was plenty of lounges in various areas of the ship. The wifi was very good, plenty of choice of restaurant/cafe/self service to choose from and of course bars. We had a 4 berth large outer cabin, it was plenty big enough and with the top bunks left closed quite comfortable,  we used the pillows from the top bunks so didn't have a problem with flat pillows in fact they were very good. I wasn't sure if I would like the crossing but it was suprisingly nice and would do it again.

    Edit, we got the 6.15pm sailing and would probably choose that time again, as it meant we only needed the 1 night stop on the way down.

    Thanks for the advice , I have taken the plunge and booked a Bilbao crossing for the first time on the assumption that prices are only going one way now. 

    What did you decide to go with cabin wise? and if you don't mind me asking why Bilbao over Santander. I'm sure you will enjoy it either way as long as the seas behaveWink

    AD, many thanks for your reply I hope you don't mind me asking. I like to hear from others as to why they choose between the 2 crossings. I agree that having the little extras can make a long crossing more enjoyable, treat it like a mini cruise rather than
    a ferry, that's what we do. We went out Santander  and back Caen this year and would do it again if we were heading to the South of Spain/Portugal at that time of year again. We stayed over night in Santander then the next night in Salamanca.
