Does anyone have any recommendations for sites in the Regensburg/Deggendorf/Passau area?

The campsite at Straubing is very good. This lies between Regensburg and Deggendorf. You can cycle along the Danube from the site and its easy to walk into the centre, about 10 minutes away. Also easy access. Recommended.

I'd endorse the site at Straubing, it's very good. The small town is delightful with many excellent places to eat and a regular market. Its handy for both Regensburg and Passau. The site at Regensburg, near to the Danuble, is not one I'd recommend.

We stopped for a couple of nights last month at
    Feriendorf Bayervald
which is about 15 miles South East of Passau, high above the Danube.  A very pleasant calm and peaceful site when we were there.  Good sized pitches, comfortable facilities, nice simple restaurant and very friendly helpful owners.
We used the site as a break on our journey back from Croatia in order to see Passau.  The city, the small towns and villages around and the beautiful countryside certainly warranted a longer stay.  Pity we had a ferry booked.
