We'll be heading home slowly on Wednesday and we want to get to Basel so we are after a site just over the border into France, time we get to Basel our 200 miles or so will be up so anything within half hour north of Basel would be great but it would be
about a 15 hr stopover so no time for exploring, thanks.

The site in the village of Eguisheim in the Alsace region, about 45 minutes north of Basle, sounds ideal for your needs. The small town is certainly worth a visit despite your tight time scale.

I'll echo that comment. Les Trois Chateaux at Eguisheim is a nice site, right on the edge of a lovely town. While you might not want to spend time exploring very much, it's worth a walk in - even if only to see the nesting storks.

Try Camping "Lugs ins Land" at Bad Bellingen, 15 mins north of Basel and close to the motorway. It's great for a overnight stop and ACSI is still working at the moment. It is not in France, but you can easly cross over just up the road and rejoin the Colmar
    road.

The municipal site at Obernai is excellent. ACSI as well.

For those who recommended Eguisheim it was very good and managed an hour wondering around the beautiful village and on top of that only €16 bargain, thanks again.
