Hss anyone else found that, when checking Tunnel crossing prices on the CC web site, that it isn't possible to add an 'Inbound' crossing type?

It appears to offer two options 'select inbound crossing' and 'tunnel Calais to Folkestone' both of which are ticked and it's not possible to select the second one.

Hi Ian, sorry you're having problems. I have just searched and got a return fare using dates 23/9 out and 30/9 in. It could be that there are no fares for the date you are selecting

I had no problems selecting either a return or single crossing (inbound from France) the first time I tried.  Make sure you select the correct bit in the first two boxes.  You can select dates and search for crossings without a problem.

It was also £20 odd pounds less expensive than booking via Eurotunnel!

Well, they are showing as available on the Eurotunnel web site.

    Maybe it's an i-Pad issue?

Ian, on this I-pad I always have the same problem and have to put in a return route that I don't want, and when it accepts that I can correct it to the return route I do want -  try that.

I don't even need to enter a 'return' route, whichever ferry I choose.  If I firstly select return crossing then complete the outward section, then the return section fills in automatically with the return destination you selected as 'outwards'.

Same for me when I go on tbe Eurotunnel site, but the CC won't allow me to enter a return crossing.

I'll give them a call sometime. Rather frustrating not being able to compare different days and times though......can't really do that when talking to an operator.

Earlier I got a price earlier £204 return from Eurotunnel, and £181.44 from the Caravan Club.

Have you tried just selecting 'France Dover and Tunnel - Eurotunnel then comes up in the list of prices from the other companies, and you can then select 'More crossings from this operator'.  This is the result of a search done two minutes ago choosing different dates:

    EURT

    13 Aug 2016 Folkestone - Calais

    Dep: 12:06 Arr: 13:41

    Duration: 35min

    Ship Name:

    27 Aug 2016 Calais - Folkestone

    Dep: 12:06 Arr: 11:41

    Duration: 35min

    Ship Name:

    £207.20

Please note: LPG vehicles cannot be accepted for transport by Eurotunnel. This is a non refundable tic

Yes, which is why we store our caravan in France.  As we have more than one 'holiday' a year, the additional ferry costs were substantial when we took the caravan backwards and forwards, so we leave it in France where our storage costs are also about half of the cost in Britain.

We've actually signed up to a Frequent Traveller deal with Eurotunnel, which without a caravan costs us just £43.00 each way (with a caravan £73.00 each way).  This includes my son as a 'partner' .  The total cost of £430 was only marginally more than four crossings for our next trips, booked individually.  My son and his partner are coming down to see us in France and they usually go snow-boarding or skiing in the winter too so it benefits us both.  It does involve supplements for peak weeks and peak times though, so is not for everyone, but usually we holiday out of peak season, and having a long journey from Yorkshire makes the off peak crossings suitable for us.  We have already used four of our ten paid for crossings, so each time we go backwards and forwards now it is 'virtually' free!

All very nice for you and but what has that got to do with the original question?

I didn't have any problems with the route, so I posted the results, you then quoted my post, plust a comment about the price with a caravan, so I responded why it was a solo quote........ However, the detail I added was also to indicate that there are cheaper ways of getting a crossing than through the Caravan Club.  If you do more than one return crossing a year, which some of us do, then it can be cheaper to look at the Frequent Traveller option - where with a caravan on off peak dates it can cost just £73.00 per journey or £43.00 solo.

Nothing, really, to do with why people have problems with the Caravan Club website or choosing return routes from drop-down lists, but that's the way forum questions go - people add details, discuss the details, etc.   I tend to add more details than most - and sometimes people actually appreciate this.

There are many other threads which have diverted from the original question and moved into discussion of wider issues.
