Early sail from caen
Good afternoon all
I am away in july\august to france. Traveling to granville. the ferry back is at 0830 so really we would like to be closer to the port. Having searched the posts there is only posts for few years ago with regards parking up over night which is close to the
caen ferry terminal. Any advice on where to stay now? ideally we would like to travel up to caen late afternoon early evening. and leave 0730 the next morning
thanks

The former Les Pommiers campsite 500 metres from the ferry port is now under new management and called Camping Riva Bella. Most of us with late arrivals/early departures stay there, but Google will tell you of other options not much further away, and point you to reviews of them all.

Hi Firemaster. The site Le Pont du Jour in our brochure is only 9 miles from Caen port and if pre-arranged you can depart from 6.30am

We are booked in to Yelloh Village Les Haute Coutures, its about 10 minutes to the Port and right on the canal very near to Pegasus Bridge, infact you can walk it there in minutes from the rear gate of the campsite. Nice pool, they give you the code to
the barrier for early departures its No 1305 in the Acsi discount book. We prefer it to Les Pommiers.0 -
We have stayed at Riva Bella [Les Pommiers] twice in the last six weeks. The first time off the 9.30 at night ferry Francoise allowed us to straddle two pitches so we didn't have to unhitch and I know he opened up at 11.30 on Tuesday when industrial action
delayed the arrival of the ferry. There is a gate code so you leave when you want to and a gate code to the gate at the bottom of the site that takes you straight on to the canal. Its less than five minutes by the back road into the port. There is a notice
on one of the shower blocks to say it is being done up over the winter and a swimming pool added.0
