Coastal sites midway St Malo and Dordogne
Hi Everyone
we set off on Friday and have been looking for a decent site somewhere roughly mid point'ish between St Malo and our main destination in Dordogne. We have approx 5 nights "spare" and would like a site with direct access to a beach, pine trees, quiet and
pretty if possible. we have ACSI card but not essential that it is an ACSI site. We would have had an ideal destination having stayed at la Parc de la Cote Savage several years ago, which would fit the bill perfectly except ALAS it seems it does not accept
dogs, so we need to go elsewhere. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you want to stick to that immediate area around La Palmyre then Camping Bonne Anse is close to the sea but with 800 static pitches out of 850 total it's not our cup of tea.
We liked Camping BeauSoleil in La Palmyre because of its village centre location - they claim it's 400 metres to the sea but I reckon it's a bit more than that. We liked Camping La Palombiere and Camping Atlantique Foret at Les Mathes too, but they are inland of the forest belt and a short car drive from the sea - and the latter has no pool. But there are 20 other sites in that area around the village, all respectable, and for just five days I reckon any of them will do, but they aren't beachfront.
We will be down there ourselves at the end of this month. Good luck.

Thanks Eurotraveller, yes had seen some of the sites you mentioned and to be honest none jumped out at us. However have just found a possible "runner" which looks similar to the Parc Sauvage on Il D'Oleron. it's the Indigo on the west coast and looks like
it accepts dogs. Was also having another look at Il de Re, the is a site at the further most tip beside the lighthouse, but not sure if it's worth trekking all the way across the island. Many thanks for your feedback and suggestions.0
