Overseas storage - Caravan Club list out of date
We are in a dilemma about storage for our caravan. We've stored in France for years, without problems, but now the owner has been taken ill and is in England. The Mairie of the village have provided an emergency key-holder, but asked everyone to remove
their caravans at the earliest opportunity.
We are looking for an alternative in France, and this morning I've tried emailing four of the addresses on the Caravan Club list, to find they all have bounced back, and I know of one who was listed in 2011 when we first moved to where we are now, who had
given up several years before.
I wonder if perhaps the staff could have a look at this list, and update it, removing all those who no longer offer storage, or whose email addresses are no longer in operation.

I hope you and other caravanners find alternative storage Val. I've flagged this up for staff to investigate.

Thanks Comeyras. I know exactly where you mean - there are several places there - Bessan Caravanes, and others. There are also lots of places near to us, but we were looking at somewhere in North to Mid-France - so that when we cross the channel we don't have to have nights in hotels, but can pick up the caravan. Around Chartres/Orleans would be ideal but I've tried several leads and no one has any space at the moment. I have found somewhere near Rivesaltes which will do, short term, but ideally we'd like somewhere further north and near to our preferred route from Rouen, south via Chartres, Orleans, Vierzon, Limoges.
Anywhere north of Vierzon would be best so that we have a chance of an early morning ferry and then picking up the van just in time for an evening stopover nearby!

Hi everyone,
I've spoken to the Overseas Travel team and they have given me this link which is up to date:

It's a thin list, Rochelle. None at all in Brittany, for example, yet a quick Google throws up over 50 addresses in that region alone.

The email addresses for the Johnsons (on your list) are both returned as unavailable. There are others, who I know are not doing storage, and I still think your Overseas Department needs to send emails to all those on the list to see if they are still doing
storage, and if not remove the details.0 -
I agree Ian - either that or they keep it up to date annually at least. Last time we were looking for storage in France (2011) we tried to find somewhere from the Caravan Club list and several of those I sent emails to had either stopped doing it, or the
email was returned. I informed the Caravan Club and but those people are still on the list that Rochelle linked to.0
