Channel Ferry facilities

Hi, After several years travelling via Hull/Zeebrugge I hope to travel to Caen or Cherbourg in August, via Portsmouth probably.

In the past Cherbourg was happy for caravan to drop their legs and sleep overnight for the early ferry. Caen had a smaller area available.

Are these option still open?

I would normally avoid August like the plague but medical problems have snookered my usual times!!! Quite possibly there will be no ferry availablity of course.

Any advice/experience would be helpful.

Les Pommiers has changed hands in the last year and they now give you a gate code so you can leave what time you like.
