Do you mean going as far as Paris and using the ring road on the south west side of the city? Four hours that way from Caen ferry port will get you as far as the site at Nemours which is listed in the Club site guide - but that town bore the brunt of the recent flooding. When are you going? And would you consider a different route?

Although Viamichelin suggests the route you mention as the quickest, it is also the route most likely to be affected by traffic and timing.
I think I would be more inclined to head use the alternative route via Tours, Vierzon, Lyon, and then down the A7. It's a more interesting route, and Viamichelin suggests it will only take about twenty minutes longer.. Somewhere between Tours and Vierzon
would be a good place to stop. and there are lots of sites along that route - dependng on what sort of thing you're looking for. Do you need a site which would suit children who want a pool - or would a simple municipal do?0 -
We found the route through La Garde Freinet which is the one you probably use towards Port Grimaud, was awful for twisting winding roads. It was the only road which used to make me car sick as an adult. We much preferred to go on a bit further and cross
the 'mountains' towards St Maxime using the D25 from Le Muy, then back towards Port Grimaud on the coast road.0
