You don't need a SOG (who told you that), and yes, all French sites have some forrm of emptying point.  Some are excellent, some are just a cubicle in the loo with a bigger loo and a flush.  Some sites, especially in rural areas, prefer you to use green toilet chemicals as they have Fosse Septiques (Septic Tanks) and the bacteria which break down waste can be damaged with blue toilet chemicals.

You may find (depending on the site) that you prefer to use the site facilities as much as possible.

    Have a good trip.

Some don't even have a dedicated cubicle but you just need to use one of the ordinary toilets which is not a problem but can be tricky to rinse out the cassette!

You'll also find that few French sites have grey water disposal points - just ask the campsite warden where to discard it. Sometimes at the base of trees / hedges, sometimes in drains.

On a few continental sites, I have had trouble finding the CDP only to discover that they don't have a conventional pedestal disposal point, but rely on their MH service bollard where both black and grey waste disposals are located at the base.

Camping Municipal at Nevers is one such site as is Camping Salata at Roses.

I tend to agree with what has been said above.  The Chemical disposal and grey water disposal points tend to be 'inconsistent' - they vary considerably from one site to another.  The best thing to do is ask as to what is the custom on that particular site.

I don't know if it's just the sites we have visited, but we have found more sites in recent years with water hook-up and grey water waste drainaway, but they do sometimes appear to be a little dilapidated or 'temporary' in appearance.
