No problems receiving the various chanels - perfect picture but no sound except for the local channel, which seems to be 3 in the areas I've been to. Any idea why ?.

Are you useing a Sky box or Freeview box. If it is a sky box switch it all off at the maines then back on again and it should re-boot and the sound should come back. If it is a freeview box I have no idea.

My freeview TV doesn't display any channels.

It finds 'Channel 1' up to about 10 and a couple of HD channels but no pictures and only a couple of sound tracks!

PS. It's not a HD TV.

Using an HD igital TV. As I say perfect picture on about 40 channels but sound on one channel only. Mitsi I would be better off learning to lip read - I can speak French that's why I want the sound !!!

Have you tried selecting the audio channel? You can on digital signals.

Having spent a winter in France a few years back ( baby minding) with nothing to watch except French TV, we cannot imagine why anyone would want to tune in to their programmes!

'Publicitie' every 10 minutes lasting about 15 minutes, interspersed with dire talk shows or quiz games. Even our daughter's French neighbours prefer UK tv if they can get it on satellite.Happy

p.s. It may be that the French digital 'standard' is not the same as UK. Try selecting 'country' when you retune.

Selected country and no better. Sitting here in the pouring rain avoiding the floods, even French TV is better than nowt. Some good films occasionally. Just can't understand why sound is received on only one channel. Will have to go satellite next year.
