New places

Hi all,

We returned just over two weeks ago from a lovely tour of Italy; done places in Italy before but never really toured.

we have toured France and Spain but we have not really been overly adventurous further afield.

This time we would love hot sun (late Aug/Sept), pool would be nice but not essential, a reasonably quiet site and not necessarily too close to local life given that we can drive to sites of interests although close to a local village etc is certainly not
a no no.

Any suggestions? I fancy Croatia or the Black Forest. I want to see bits of Local History but I also want good/hot weather so that we can sit in the sun and read; we both need to relax. If we had more time (3 weeks) I would love to head for Greece etc but
alas.........

Has anyone got any suggestions. Heat being most important actually in my shallow world

    Are you willing to leave the caravan at home and fly? Lots of suggestions if so.

    Write your comments here...   Hi Euro, in our younger carefree, spend free days we travelled the world extensively: we now love the Caravan and the delights of seeing Europe off the beaten track. We are reasonably adventurous and would just like new suggestions.
    Although we HAVE been to Croatia, it was some time ago when there were still hidden land mines to ne warned against

    Why not try Austria wonderful country you could do Black Forest going down or coming back.

    If you want to be adventurous go for Croatia. If you take the nothern route out, you can visit Saltzberg and Bled. Come back through Switzerland and see the mountains. It's about 1040 miles out and 1058 miles back from Calais. Someone will sure to be be on, to point out the pros and cons of toll roads, vignetts in Switzerland, etc.

    Thanks everyone. I must admit, I am thinking Croatia may be a good idea.

    Can't imagine you would get hot sun in the Black Forest or Austria as you drift into September. Go South young man!
