Interesting Stop-offs Suitable for Caravans
When planning caravan trips I often find there is too long a time between leaving and arriving at a destination. For example, this year I will stop overnight in Tours and have to leave before 12.00am to go to Le Havre. Our overnight ferry does not embark
until 9pm and so we have 9 hours, at least, to travel the 4-5 hour journey. I do not want to travel more than 250 miles a day, so it is the same from any start. So, other than staying on an Aire, what do you do? How do you know where you could make an interesting
short stop, with parking for the caravan?

Sorry, I don't know Le Havre, but coming home from Roscoff I go there the day before to a small municipal site, spend the day on the Ile de Batz or at Carantec, have an evening meal at Les Chardons Bleus in Roscoff town, and finally tow out of the campsite about 9pm. for the 11pm. overnight sailing home. Aren't there similar possibilities near Le Havre?

I remember many years ago stopping at Deauville before getting the ferry home. Can't for the life of me remember where I parked up. Honfleur is a rather picturesque spot. If you zoom in on Google Earth, you can see possible spots to park up.

We always pay for extra night on a site rather have our comfort then start coking about.
