Agree with al the comments about keeping the posts going, and echo grateful thanks to all who have been kind enough to give feedback about the ongoing situation in France.

We cross to St Malo on the 17th June. My hunch is that as the issues have not been resolve de there will be more disruption of various sorts.......and Ait traffic control and/or ferry disruption  remains a possibility. Keeping optimistic however and is greatly
helped by the excellent flow of information. Dordogne via Il de Re is our plan.......can't wait :)

No problems with getting fuel on A6,A7 or A9 yesterday and today And no queues

We are now at La Brasilia having travelled from Calais with no fuel problems whatsoever. We stopped every 2-3 hours for a break and always took the precaution of filling up when we stop, but to be honest we always do that anyway.

Currently at Royat, just outside Clermont Ferrand, plenty of fuel here, no queues and no restrictions.

I have just filled up at Super U at Aigue Morte in the Camargue. No problems and a bargain at €1.13 a litre!

We are crossing Portsmouth Caen next Saturday, heading south. The intention was to try and save a little money leave the autoroute, and use the N10 from Poitiers to Bordeaux . Has anyone travelled that route recently?

At current rates of exchange, that is still under £1 per litre.

Tesco Northarbour just off the top of the M275 is the easiest/cheapest before the ferry.

BTW, was that your Teardrop parked up in Gran Alacant a few weeks back?

Write your comments here...Thank you, I will write this onto my map. My sat nav picks up locations of petrol stations in France, but not UK. Sadly that wasn't me in Gran Alacant. Cheers for info.

The fuel situation appears to have eased a little, from what I can see.  The worry seems to have changed from fuel to flood.  I'm hoping the floods will be fairly short lived...

We leave on Thursday Britferry from portsmouth to arrive Beynac-la- Cazenac on Saturday. Travelling via Tours A38 to Buzancais then towards A20. If anyone has any current info on flooding/Dordogne etc I'd be gratefull. Plan was to refill at Portsmouth but
will have to make sure its available.

Is the shell station on the A3 towards the port and just of the roundabout at the end of the M275 still open

Yes, that's the one where you go right the way down to the bottom of the dual carrriageway and come right round the Church St roundabout and back up the way you came. It's halfway to the Rudmore roundabout where you turn in to the ferry terminal. Tesco Northarbourt is cheaper and there's a Pizza Hut adjacent as an added incentive.Wink

We travelled from Roscoff on 27/5, and our friends from Dunquerque on 26/27, to meet at Les Peupliers in Couhe. They had no problems and we saw a few places with pumps coned off early on but topped up after app 130 miles-both using diesel. Asked about fuel
at site and lady said it was not a problem so filmed up in village and no other issues since there to Noja where we are now.

We're currently at Pontorson and there is diesel at Carrfore Market 24hr with no queues just a French couple having trouble with their bank card oh and a 3 yr old refusing to have sun cream on.

Oh yes, its quite hot as well.

Just driven the 200 miles down from Caen to Arrandon, pretty well all on autoroutes, and only saw one fuel station closed. That was a 'secondary brand' on the outskirts of Rennes. A few hundred metres along the same Rennes ring road, the major names - Shell,
Total, etc., were all open and operating normally. We're heading south to Bordeaux tomorrow and will need to refuel en route, but local advice from those here in Arrandon is that we should not find any shortages. They say the fuel suppliers are buying in fuel
from refineries in places like Germany and making up any short fall, with much of the early problems being exacerbated by drivers topping up all the time with 5 litres or so. However, technically the strike by the union concerns is still on, and depot blockages
could re-appear - it's just easier as everyone including the major fuel suppliers are better able to manage the issues, and most importantly, information such as on this blog, help us visitors to continue to enjoy France. Thanks to all for posting info...
Keep it coming for a while is my vote!

We're crossing on Saturday to Caen and heading south of Bordeaux . Are you going to use Autoroute's all the way or N roads. We thought of N10 from Poitiers to angouleme and on to Bordeaux. Would be good to know fuel supply on that road. I expect it will
be back to normal, but you never know

To make it absolutely clear, the fuel strike in France is over, and has been for more than a week.  There should be no problem obtaining fuel anywhere in France.

    Thanks

    Write your comments here...Plenty of

Brits further south during March/April/May....we left UK on 7th March and are now about to return to Calais tomorrow.

I have to say there are plenty of Germans/Dutch and French too!!  We've stayed at Navajas, La Manga, Roquettas, Cabopino, Puerte de Santa Maria, Tarifa, Balerma, La Manga, Peniscola.....all with their fair share of GB tourers (as opposed to the 'over-winter'
outfits).  Since being back in France (Carcassonne to Bergerac to La Fleche) we've not seen any fuel queues or filling stations closed.  We've noticed that there are many places on the main routes charging up to 1.26 euro - but most supermarkets and towns
it has been at 1.16.  No shortages noted anywhere except no SP98 at the Carrefour in Bergerac or La Fleche.

As I said in my post just before yours, as at today's date (8th June 2016) there should be no problems anywhere in France.  Whether this continues, and for how long, is anybody's guess!
