    Friends who are currently at Moulin Fort, Chenonceaux (near Tours) reported fuelling up yesterday at the local Intermarche, no queues, no restrictions, no problems.

    It will be interesting to see what happens next week.  As usual in France when there are protests they tend to be Monday - Friday as the French enjoy 'le weekend'.....

    They have been rioting and blockading every Tuesday and Thursday so far.

    Just been told by the campsite owner that the oil refinery at Toulouse is open and French government has given dispensation for tanker drivers to use roads today (Sunday).

    We've travelled from Luxembourg down the A31 to Dijon then the A6 to Lyon. Filled up earlier than I would have usually, but no problem at all. All autoroute service stations were open with at most 3 or 4 vehicles waiting, no restrictions on quantities. We
    had no queue at all at our station, just north of Dijon. Diesel was E1.25 to E1.28, afraid I didn't notice the petrol prices!

    Will update tomorrow as we continue southhwards towards Carcassonne.

    Off now to tuck into my tartiflette tea!

    Living in France, I would say, please don't be complacent about the situation.  Keep your vehicle topped up if possible while passing through.  The chances are (and confirmed by an article in today's

    Daily Telegraph    ) that the protests will start again next week.

    Sounds like we'll be joiining those heading for Carcassonne!  Will definitely top up before the Spain/French border so should be ok for the transit north.  Once in Carcassonne at least we'll have a few days to prepare for the next leg north.  Thanks to all
    who are offering advice and their observations en route (sic!)  I notice the weather is improving north of the Pyrenees too....

    Hi, just been to local skip and the local Carrefour was having a delivery of fuel, OH filled up no problems around here in the Lot so far.

    We are down in the Aude, and have had no problems in filling up anywhere we've tried.  There are no queues, no restrictions on amount, and everything seems completely normal.  We have, however, taken the precaution of filling a jerrycan with ten litres,
    and (optimistically) that plus a completely full tank, and steady mileage will get us back to Calais.

    In response to the above post, Redkite does mention that he is in the Lot region of France.

    Hi, As Valda said Near Cahor in the Lot region next department down from the Dordorgne. Sorry Valda this redkite is female OH does not do club together anymore. Have a good trip back when you return and the weather to improve next week 30+c for this region.

    We drove from calais  down to northern Spain friday/Saturday using the a26/a6 had no problems getting diesel on motorway.  Stopped in dardilly overnight restricted to 30 euros per fill. We put 30 euros in drove out the station then back in for another 30 euros. Having arrived in Spain and spoken to other British campers they have had no problems driving through France either and some of them have driven the toll free routes. Hope this helps!

    Just an update from us decided to go for it change of plan though thought south France might be a bit of a risk distance wise so have headed down to Le Rochelle as our first stop will continue south to pick up where we left off last year. Fuelled up about
    200miles from Caen not sure where we  but have taken all non toll route using google map. No problems at all signs saying no jerry cans but plenty of fuel when we got to Nantes there were several garages with no diesel but not really a big deal as there were
    plenty that did. only issue was for people traveling north into Nantes on the N137 there were massive delays I would say 10miles due to a blockade of turf and tires in the carriageway Police had seemed to move some of it so it was single file luckily we were
    going the other way. Will spend a few days here then off to Arcachon

    As reported earlier, we travelled from Luxembourg to Lyon yesterday without seeing any sign of fuel problems. Continued onto Carcassonne today, again no issues - all autoroute fuel stations operating as normal. Need to visit shops tomorrow so will check
    out supermarket filling station and post a report.

    Yes agree these posts are really useful as we are still hoping to head for the Dordogne from Caen on Friday and hopefully shouldn't have too many problems. My only worry from reading an earlier post is that our family won't be able to join us as they are
    supposed to be flying out on Sunday

    We've a ferry booked for Saturday with a plan to go to the Dordogne so we are reading these post and will decide on Saturday. Thanks for all the posts.

    We arrived in Calais last Saturday and have taken the route via Montreuil-sur-Mer, Arras, Chateau-Thierry, and now on our way to Troyes. All petrol stations we have passed have been open with no sign of fuel problems/restrictions and no queues. Our main
    problem is getting away from the heavy rain that seems to be in most of the east. Here for another 18 days so hoping we'll find sun eventually!!

    We have a Euro star crosing to Calais this Thursday and intend to head down to St Jean de l. and on into Spain. Can anyone see any issues with this re fuel?

    I travelled from Cahors to Brive la Gallaird and back yesterday and there were no problems getting fuel on the motorway at all.

    HERE     is the view from today's UK Independent newspaper for those worrying about travelling, although French TV and newspapers are warning of more disruption to come.

    Long delays at frontier control Monday 30th French passport inspection on go slow . queued for 1hour so missed boat. If we had known it was intentional go slow would have asked everyone else stranded there to sound horns,it was so stressful having 2hour
    wait for boat because of their stupidity bruno

    Checked out supermarket near Carcassonne (Tribes), all fuel available with no limits, no queues. Diesel E1.16 and petrol E1.30.

    So to summarise, no issues whatsoever experienced or noticed all the way down the east and south from Luxembourg to Carcassonne.

    So Bruno, what do you suggest. We are due to sail 7.35am from Dover on Thursday. ( First timers!) We do not have a flexible ticket, do we just need to get there extra early and join the queue?? Any suggestions gratefully received!

    Afternoon all

    A massive thank you to all the members who have posted their feedback it is really appreciated.

    Domaine de Soleil Plage (16 miles east of Souillac) in the Aquitaine have advised there are no problems getting fuel in their area.

    They have also said that the motorway stations have plenty of fuel.

    Write your comments here...we arrived 1hour before sailing we did not move for ages,the bursar onboard ship  said they do this regularly,which we had no knowledge of.Isuggest if this happens just get everyone to honk their car horns until they do check passports.An extra 2hour wait for DFDS ferry is no joke when you've arrived in plenty of time.  I do wonder how we might be affected Calais or Dunkirk post June 23rd !!!!! Bruno

    honk your car horns until they check passports ,seriously ???they are more likely to not check you in ,2 hour wait at Dover is nothing ,you have obviuosly not been part of operation stack  ,which in case you didn't know its where you get put on the motorway leading into Dover as there is a problem with the ferries ,I had this happen 2 years ago before I got my camper ,went to Italy with shearings on Feb 14th ,as there had been gales overnite only 1 ferry was operating per hour instead of 2 per hour ,the drivers know how to avoid the motorway ,going on the A roads but getting to dover at 6pm at being told your not sailing till 10pm is not good

     We are due to travel to Calais on Monday and travel to Normandy were we will look for fuel before heading to Angers.
