Just a lighthearted thread. Have you been out and about outside of the Uk on a tour and bumped into someone you know?

We overwinter around Spain every year and always bump into a fellow warden or ten! But, two winters ago we were walking along the prom in Calpe and there at a bar was an old friend I'd not seen for ten years, that was the Mrs driving back to site then!!!

Who have you bumped into?

Years ago, at Cambrils, we bumped into our son's best friend from school, and his parents, who were staying on the same site.  We became firm friends with the parents during the course of the holiday and our friendship continues today.

Do 'stars' count ?  If so, Dave Gilmour, from Pink Floyd, wending his way to the toilet block, roll in hand???????  Again some years ago.  Unfortunately he didn't recognise me!

Don't know them as such but saw Robert Lindsay in Disney Florida, Linda Robson sat at a cafe in Calais and Chris Searle getting off a little boat trip in Brittany

Many years ago we were on a site near St Malo where we were staying. My wife went to the toilet and met the lady from accross the road from our house. We knew they were in France but they were going further South and using it for an overnight stay.

When you come from Cornwall you always meet someone you know it happens all the time. I suppose us Cornish get everywhere particularly if there's a hole in the ground!!! We all have relations in Oz , USA, Canada etc so not surprising really!

Many years ago we were in Saumur and a UK caravan pitched up next to us - turned out that we had attended the same grammar school back in the early 1970's and after a glass or two of Loire wine we acknowledged that we remembered the school song...bad news
    for some!
