Reviews of that site are there on ACSI website and on Trip Advisor too.

Sounds OK for train spotters. Smile

Why not cross the toll bridge to Île de Ré. Glorious sands, sunsets and cycling.

For such a beautiful and popular area good caravan sites seem to be few and far between. I've also been searching for a good site close to La Rochelle but haven't been able to find any so I'm following the replies you get Racheal.

There are decent sites at ChatelaillonPlage, Fouras and Rochefort - all within easy reach of La Rochelle by car or by public transport. And for those with smaller caravans or campers there is Camping Le Verger at Dompierre sur mer. -  which despite the name is about 5 miles inland. But as HG said the Ile de Re has lots of choices just over the bridge.

We stayed here a couple of years ago within walking distance of Chatelaillon PLage.
