Le cube propane - buying the first bottle advice

I'm planning to collect my new caravan in Normandy in 2 weeks..and want to buy a Le Cube propane bottle (most probably in a Leclerc petrol station.

When I sign the contract for the first container..do I need to provide a French address, or will my UK one do?

    I haven't done it myself but I am told by those that have. You need a French address.  

    i believe that French telephone directories are full of French addresses Innocent

    If a French one is required then would not a campsite you are using or intend to use be both an adequate and honest answer?

    You dont need a French address. The process is as follows:

    You can purchase a gas cylinder in an approved POS Butagaz. All you need to do the following:

    Ask a bottle Butagaz matching your needs . It will obviously be full and ready for use.

    Complete the consignment slip with your dealer. He will take care to indicate the date of deposit and its amount (that you will pay only once a returnable bottle).

    Sign it and have it stamped by the merchant.

    Please keep your copy (white). It will be useful later if you want to recover the amount of the deposit.

    Enjoy a regulator clip offered for each new consignment of a bottle Viseo or Cube .

    Take home this first full gas bottle.

    To know :

    The valve must be adapted to the type of bottle Butagaz recorded ( "blue" for butane gas, "red" for propane gas). When you want to charge the bottled gas, the merchant you exchange the empty bottle against a full bottle in no time. So you pay only the price
    of the gas charge.

    We have two 'cubes', one butane and one propane. For each purchase we had to provide a French address, We used our daughter's address ( she lives in the Savoie). That said, the filling station attendant didn't pay much attention to the paperwork.

    I am told that Le Cube has a 27mm clip-on which is the same as Gas Light (BP Gas) available from Homebase.

    We have a Primagaz Twinny bottle which we purchased donkey's ago-we were not asked for a French address at the time.Ours came as an offer with a regulator(detendeur) and when( several years later) the bulkhead fit regulators came in we were able to get a
    clip-on tap to screw into a stainless steel pig-tail;all of which came from Gaslow in the UK.It might be worthwhile to give Gaslow a call re the Le Cube fittings.Hope this helps,Ken.

    as Ken says, the caravan (French?, German?.....we dont know) will undoubtedly have a bukhead regularor and a pigtail terminating in the std continental 21.8 LH threaded 'butane' fitting.

     

    A French or German caravan won't neccessarily have a bulkhead regulator a lot come with bottle mounted regulators.
