liverpool to dublin ferry and sites in ireland
Can anyone recommend a site near liverpool for overnight stay (or is there room in the car park to stay?) to enable us to catch the ferry at 9.30 am the next morning pleae. Also, we are travelling in June- will it be necessary to book sites beforehand ?
we really want to be as flexible as possible, but probably staying say a week at 2 or 3 sites. Any tips please?

Hello Valencia
Welcome to Club Together. Sorry I cannot help with your question regarding Liverpool, but I can help with campsites in Ireland:
June is a great time to visit Ireland and there should be no problem with not pre-booking. If you are worried about availability you can always make a quick call the day before you want to arrive at a site to check if they have plenty of space.
The Caravan Club works with 7 campsites in Ireland and they can be found
here. There are details of more sites on this
website.I hope you have a great trip!

Can't help with sites in Ireland, but doubt if you can stay overnight. The ferry goes from Gladstone Dock in Bootle (4 miles from city) which also deals with imported coal & exported scrap metal so don't think it would be very peaceful. Suggest use Wirral Country Park, Chester Fairoaks or Southport but with all three give yourself plenty of time since City bound traffic at this time in the morning is very heavy.

There is Motorhome parking on the Kings dock and it is ideal for your ferry the next day. If you go onto www.motorhomeparking.co.uk there is a number to ring with regards to overnighting. We have seen motorhomes there many times though not sure if they have
been there all night. Worth a call, if I was more savvy I would put the link on for you but far too complicated after a long day in work.0 -
