Nantes camping

We have been here for a couple of days now and I feel the need to share how good this site is. I believe that is is owned and run by the city council, but I'm not sure. What I am sure of is that it is as good a site as we have ever stayed on.

The site is easy to get to from the RN. A tram stop just outside of the site takes you into the city, which is well worth visiting. You can obtain free tickets to the massive indoor swimming pool which is just across the road.

The pitches are either fully hard standing or half grass, half hard standing. They are full-service, level, well kept and surrounded by hedges.

The staff are friendly and efficient and it is an ACSI site.

If you are thinking of visiting the Nantes area, this is the site to use!

Hello Dunclair,  you have got good wi fi there so have a look at the website for La Cigale restaurant in the city -it's  up the hill by the theatre.

The photos of the astonishing interior decor might tempt you, and the food is none too bad as well. Perhaps treat a lady to lunch. Bon Appetit.

We've used it as well and share your enthusiasm. Have you seen the red squirrels? And have you been to L'Ile des Machines? As eurortraveller says, La Cigale is a treat.

The only minor problem we had was that there was a torrential downpour and the hard standing (limestone chips) turned to a sort of mush. And I couldn't find a local boulangeries although have been assured by someone that there is one.

    We intend to return.

Staying here at the moment and can only agree with the OP,-great site, very good WiFI and facilities that are far better than the CC can produce.

For those who are still to arrive, 8 Euros buys you a tram ticket for 4 people ( even if there are only 2 of you- obtainable at the site reception) and covers all your trips for 24 hrs. The trams are very frequent and we hopped on and off many times, simply wonderful

Have stayed there 4 times so that says everything. Last time managed to fit in seeing the Elephant (Les Machines de L'ile) and had a communal barbeque in the grounds. Plenty of things to do so try to extend your visit if you can. You can also
hire 'Boris' like bike to see some of the other attractions. Bon Voyage.

We have left now but ddi cycle along the river into Nantes and using the tram visited ( and rode ) on the elephant. A very nice city and, due to the tram network, very little traffic
