Splugenpass anybody done it ?
This way was recomended by Viamichelin to get to our site at the top end of Lake Como but not too keen on doing it with the van so has anyone been over it ? Because Michelin say it's ok should i trust them ? I did tick the caravan option on the search for
a route.

" Minimum width of road 3.5 metres, Mostly narrow, winding road, with the extremely tight hairpin bends, not well guarded, care also required at many tunnels/galleries. NOT recommended for caravans" . This from Club site guide Touring Europe .

Hi JudenSteve
When you tick the box on the michelin route planner it only affects the estimated toll costs, unfortunately the route planner is not clever enough to recommend a route that is specifically suited to towing.
I have just done a street view on Google Maps, and I have to say I would not enjoy towing a caravan over the pass!
I hope you enjoy your holiday!

Just in case anyone is thinking about doing it with their van don't, we went on an alpine pass tour with the car today and I wouldn't recommend this pass towing a caravan or with anything more than a medium size motorhome.
Also done the Julierpass that's ok and the Majola pass and although steep with lots of hairpins heading south the road is wider than a lot of other passes, even lorries and coaches use the latter of the two passes mentioned.
