First French Trip in Motorhome from Dunkirk

HI This is our first trip with our motorhome to France .Dover to Dunkirk and would appreciate any advice on best routes to the south ,scenic routes,good villages to stop at and any advice .We have books on ACSI and Aires sites.

    Hi Jean, Where in the south are you making for? And are you in a hurry?  Nice/Monte Carlo means a different route from Perpignan/Narbonne, and shortage of time means it will have to be the motorways. Either way I hope it goes well. Take care.

    I'd agree with Eurotraveller - the South of France is a big area - and for some people it even seems to include the Vendee.  If you're going to the Mediterranean then there are very definite 'better routes' depending on which end you're heading for.

    It's always well to give plenty of detail in your posts - how long do you have for the journeys, and for the who holiday, do you prefer to use the toll roads, or look for alternatives?  That way people can give you the more detailed replies instead of having
    to ask more questions.

    Many thanks for your kind replies.

    We are going for 8 weeks so hopefully we will have plenty of time to get to Croatia but not sure how expensive tolls are if we go the Belgium,Germany route.
