Hi Carlton. If you really have to start from Calais instead of a ferry port nearer to Brittany...

Day 1 about 170 miles from Calais down to the municipal site at Etretat on the Normandy coast

Day 2 Have a look round that pretty coastal stretch which all the famous Impressionists painted .

Day 3 another 170 miles to Camping aux Vallon des Merlettes at Matignon. It's just past Dinard.

Days 4 to 10 walk the cliffs to Cap Frehel, then splash out to the island at St Jacut , drive to St Malo and Dinan.....times running out already. Where do you want to go next?

Hi thanks for the reply that all sounds fantastic,we decided to sail to calais because not sure how the dog would cope in the car on his own due to this being our first time abroad.

I have used Wimereux several times for the first/last stop.  Two sites there in the ACSI book I preferred the Municipal one for the dogs not Petite Indien.  Then the area round Mont St Michel again ACSI.  My dogs go in caravan for the crossing with blinds
down so they don't feel the need to guard it!

    Hello Carlton,

Don't know what type of rig you have and we have not been to Brittany since 2010, however, there may be some useful information on our blog
    here and more photos
    here.

We like to use the Municipal in Pont De L'Arche. We will be there tomorrow night. We then go on to Vannes, because Jenny loves it there. It is an easy drive from Vannes to L'Orient, Quiberon, the alignments at Carnac and many other places.

Pont D is just a couple of hours down the road from Calais and Rouen is well worth a visit, even if you are only slightly interested in history - you know, like seeing where Joan of Arc was burnt at the stake.
