Thinking of doing a daytrip and my research so far shows that by car (no caravan) it will take about 2.5  hrs and cost about 43euros.  The train apparently take 4 hours (each way) and the cost is about 35 euros.  Has anyone done this daytrip and what advice,
further info, can you provide?  Thanks in advance

We did do the Vienna to Bratislava day trip before venturing further.

A normal excursion from the campsite we stayed at..

Transport options we took were Coach there and fast boat back...it included lunch and a guided foot tour.

Site gets only average reviews but we found it OK.

Not quite an answer to your question but HTHHappy

The timetable I'm looking at says trains run every hour and take 2 hours 37 minutes.
