Filling MH fresh water tank with desalinated water

Has anyone filled their water tank from the pitch tap, in Spain, with desalinated water?     And if so, did they feel the need to clean the tank on returning home?

I have not seen this discussed on this site before, but if it has perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

I note desalination is growing very fast world wide and especially in Spain on coastal resorts.

I have only used two sites in Spain and one had desalinated water which is pretty horrible. As far as your tank is concerned, assuming you don't want to drink the water from your onboard tank, I would have thought that by the time you get back to the UK
you will have flushed a lot of the desalinated water away through the journey. Obviously do no harm just the flush the system through when you get home.

Thanks David, I bumped into a CC tour group yesterday and they were all filling their tanks with it, but a lot of people on site would not.   We have taken the plunge but will stick to bottled water for drinking.

Once( only) stayed at Villanova Park, some time ago,and they used desalinated water. It left my skin feeling "acky"  all the time because the water never properly rinsed the soap off you.Never had the same issue at other  Spanish sites since.
