Just to add to AD's comment, if you book actual sites through the club rather than camping cheques, you will get the same ITX fare as with booking the cheques. We decided to go down that route this year and got a Portsmouth - Caen crossing for £237.50 return.
How this adds up for value for money depends on your personal itinery. The sites we booked did work out slightly dearer than ACSI rates, but overall the saving was worthwhile.

I've got the old P&O ( ex Townsend Thoresen)stockholders discount. Just had the 2016 brochure. The base flexi price for a Dover/Calais car only ( the caravan doesn't get a discount) is £198. So it's £99 plus the caravan. Even going for the cheaper category
ticket still works out at £200 with the van. How can they justify prices like that when the crossing distances is about 30% of the Portsmouth/Caen trip?
