I am considering a 7 night trip to Holland in mid June going over by ferry from Harwich. Does anyone know of a good site near the Hook which we could use for the first night after the crossing and also the last night before returning. The trip over arrives
late afternoon and departs early morning. Any other usefull info would be much appreciated.

The nearest campsite to the Hook of Holland ferry port is probably Strandpark Vlugtenburg - about three miles - but most British visitors are drawn to the site at Delft.

Even if you only use it twice get yourself an ACSI card. It will pay for itself if you stay at Delft or Kijkduin, near to the Hook.

As per previous posts the most popular site is Delft Hout which is within easy walking distance of the centre of Delft a pretty town with canals, plenty of resturants and a good transport hub for trains and trams. Roughly 40mins from the ferry use motorway
around north side of Delft, probably wise to ring before leaving UK to check closing time and space, we`ve never had a problem.

Last time we got off the day ferry from Harwich we were delayed and got to Delft at close to 7pm and reception was open.  Big IKEA store 5 minutes stroll away and great bird life on the reserve outside the camp gates,
