Need overnight site within an hour or so of Bilbao

We're leaving Portugal on Sunday to travel back up to Bilbao for the ferry home next Thursday.

We have identified sites for overnight stops on the way up through Portugal and Spain but need somewhere near-ish to Bilbao for Wednesday night.  We'd like to be not much more than an hour's drive from Bilbao port.

The site in Bilbao has poor reports.

We have been advised that there is a good site at Zarautz - but that is in the wrong direction for people travelling up from the south.

There seems to be a site in Pancorbo - south of Bilbao. Does anyone have experience of staying there please? The site name is El Desfiladero - it's on the N1. Can't find it in the lastest Caravan Club or ACSI  books.

We would be grateful for any advice.

    Yes David - thanks - I had found the website - mostly in Spanish which I don't read / speak sadly.

    But what I was hoping for is comments from anyone who has stayed there or, better, a recommendation for a site open at this time of year which is closer to Bilbao.  Our ferry isn't until 4.30pm sailing and we can easily do a run in that day, but frankly
    I'd prefer to be closer to the port and have a relaxing morning....  Just getting lazy in my retirement.!!

     

    I'm told one can park up on the dock side, but that doesn't appeal except for a very early sailing.
