Les Pommiers - Ouistreham
Les Pommiers, a site that many on here use when using the ferry port has changed hands. I have read on another forum that it is now under private ownership and is no longer a Municipal
New name is Seasonova camping Riva Bella

I did contact them and they confirmed that they would be open for the arrivals from the ferry.

Heres hoping the new owners will do some improvements on the san facs, they have to be some of the worst I've ever seen. The site is handy for the ferry but I'd rather use another one.
Write your comments here...we've used Les Capucines in Ranville a few times but not for a few years now. Arrange it before sailing and you call the manageress through the intercom on arrival. In winter we used to be amongst the workers but in summer would
find ourselves in the touring section. It was OK for a night halt and secure. Might try them again this September.0 -

When we came home in 2014 we stayed at another site not far from Les Pommiers unfortunatley it wasn't open on our return last November so had to stay at Les Pommiers but didn't
use the sanfacs, I wonder if it will join ACSI, at €20.50 its a bit pricey for what you get can use. There is a Yelloh village site just a bit further on with pools, restaurant etc for €19 might give them a try (I wonder if that was the one we stayed at in
2014) don't remember it being Yelloh village though.0 -
Thanks for the heads up on that Harry, will be using them in June for out and return so will give them a call, we have used them before and whilst I would agree it is not the best in terms of facilities, it is in a great spot for the ferry, walk into town
for food and a beer and a gentle stroll along the canal.0 -
I don't class the facilities as dirty. They are old and perhaps inadequate for over 300 pitches, but dirty, definitely not. I would think that most on here and others will use this site as a transit site, in one day out the next. So if it's a quick loo visit,
wash and shave and away then that;s ok by me.Ian gives a good account, the site is well placed and convenient. It's a means to an end.

We first tried this site in October 2014, we intended staying 2 nights. The facilities in both of the blocks were filthy!! so we left and went to another site just up the road, its in the ACSI system and only cost €16, far better site with pools and clean
facilities. In November 2015 on our return from Spain we decided to give Les Pommiers another try as we had been assured by many on CT that its usually clean and we were just unfortunate on our last visit. This time we would only be stay for the 1 night, the
site was only about 25% occupied so no excuse for dirty facilities, yet once again they were filthy. Now I'm not a fussy person and OH is ex service so we are both used to roughing it when required. I can only say that neither of us would have used anything
in the facilities blocks, so no we won't be using this site again unless we have heard that things have changed €20.50 just to park for the night no thanks.0 -

I emailed them earlier today and they confirmed that they allow early departures also...no change there.

I found them really pricey for what they offer...if you can do the extra 40 minutes extra, then the
municipal in Falaise is twice as nice and half the price..Does the municipal at Falaise stay open until 10.30 at night to accomodate the late ferry? We have only ever used Les Pommiers and didn't begrudge the cost for the convenience of knowing at that time of night we only had to go a mile down the road. It has
been a bonus in early season that they have let us straddle two pitches so we didn't have to unhitch and could be away early in the morning.0 -
I phoned the site earlier this afternoon enquiring if they would be open next week for an overnight stop as we return to the UK from two months in Spain. I was told that they don't open until the 1st April. When I said there are probably a lot of people
assuming the site would be open as normal the young lady said she would speak to the boss and asked me to ring again on Monday.0 -

The link above takes you to the C & CC website. Do they own this site because on page 1 it says Non members are welcome. Very good of them.
Their nightly fee is £15.90 in May with a Non Member cost of £40.90. REALLY!!!
Whay happened to Entente Cordiale

What is going on when UK camping clubs are dreaming up "member only" rates on sites they dont own , I have used this site twice a year for many years now and never seen a time when it needed the intervention of outside booking agencies. There has always
been space to spare...........and there always will be space.
That's the point I was trying to make with my post. To put it bluntly, who the hell do they think they are.
I use the site and never book, just like yourself.
If, as Comeyras says the site only charges €16.50 then that equates to £13.20 so the C & CC seem to be over charging their own members by charging them £15,90
