Booking a site on the continent

The overseas site books used to have booking forms in the back in various languages, but this seems to have been dropped now.  Does anyone have a saved pdf copy of the form in French?

I have a paper copy I could send via the postman if you can think of a way of getting your address to me,  but I can't scan it to send it by e.mail. Sorry.

I think most people these days either make a booking via a contact form on a campsite's website, or simply send an e.mail in English and let the campsite do the translating, or don't book at all.

I find Google Translate very useful and sometimes add the translated version to any e-mail. As said most sites usually respond in English but we do try to make a little effort.

Google translate for me.  At least it will amuse them!

If you can find the campsite website there is often a booking form on there.  At the very least there will be an e-mail address so draft an e-mail in English, copy and paste into Google Translate then paste the answer below your English version and send
the combined e-mail.  That way they will know exactly what you want because they are almost certain to speak English, but a version in their language shows them that you are willing to have a go.

I book our sites by email and I write in English.  I've never had difficulty in communicating with French, German and Italian sites.  It's not that I've had difficulties with sites in other countries - I just haven't tried them!

......by the way, when booking, it is worth checking out the prices of the sites on the Club's European brochure.  I have found that some sites may be slightly cheaper if you book through the  Club.

If you use ACSI sites (and why wouldn't you if travelling out of season) There is a multi-lingual format booking form. You may need to buy the DVD of ssites toaccess this about 15 euro I think. Google the official ACSI site to explore.

Reminds me of Gerard Hoffnung receiving replies from foreign landladies (before the Internet days) ... room with bath I have not but you can bath with my sister ..... there is a French widow in every room......etc.

Write your comments here...I have one. If you send an email to Rowena, the community manager and ask her to send me your email address I'll get one to you. What language do you want it in?
