Best Route to Payzac

We are taking the motorhome over to France via the Tunnel in September in order to attend a family wedding in Payzac.  Michelin suggests 2 possible routes (discounting via Paris) and I wonder if anyone can advise which is the better option.  We only have
2.5 days to get to Payzac so it looks as though we will be using motorways to travel down.

The first option is A16 and A20 via Orleans and Chateauroux and the other is A28 and A10 via Le Mans and Tours.  There doesn't seem to be much between them other than the tolls are almost double on the Le Mans route.  Discounting the toll price we would
be looking for the most direct and easiest, giving us ample opportunities to stop overnight on Aires.

Coming home we will have more time to venture off the motorway network.

Any advice and help gratefully received.

Peter.

No need to dcide seven months in advance. Get a traffic / roadworks / delays up date on the day. Take care.

Almost every French town or village of any size has an Aire for motorhomes, and therefore there will be plenty whichever route you choose.   Personally we like the A20 - which is more scenic than the flatter routes via Tours and Angouleme, but that's just
personal preference (and based on the fact that we don't like paying tolls!

Viamichelin, on my search, gives the A28 to Rouen, then the N154/A10/A20 as the number one choice, both in costs and timing.

Many thanks ValDa. That was the route I was drawn to originally. Just hope that with a van height of 3.03 metres we can get through the tolls as a class 2 vehicle.

If the ticket comes out with the wrong 'Classe' then just press the button on the Peage barrier machine, and say 'Classe Deux S'il vous plait' - and the person manning the Peage will just issue the right ticket.
