Queues at new border control points

I have been traveling out to Croatia for a number of years and have used all the routes to get there and back. One of the cons for the Swiss route was sometimes there were long queses at the border as the Vingets where checked also there were queses at the
Gottard tunnel. You did not have this on the other routes through Germany, etc. Now that these countries have border controls in place has anyone been returning from Austria to Germany in the past few weeks got any info on this? I can't see any problem going
out, as the checks will be for entering from the East.

I am told there are now fairly long queues from Spain back to France through some border controls.

How sad the freedom to travel through a borderless Europe is being lost.

It's what it used to be - Each country controlling who arrives and departs across it's borders.  There was much less criminality when there was border control.

I applaud the reinstatement of border control. --- OK it slows up the journey, but goes a long way to stop criminals moving from country to country. Borderless Europe has failed miserably !!!  Frown

I used to love the borders, collecting a stamp as you went in, and another when you left again.  When staying at Lindau on Lake Konstanz, many years ago, we did trips into Switzerland, Austria and Liechtenstein, just to collect more passport stamps!
