We are taking Eurotunnel to France in June and have heard our caravan Propane cylindres must be less tha 80% full. Does anybody have any adea how I can measure the gas level in the Calor light cylinders reasonably accurately. For instance. do the magnetic testers work on these cylinders?

From rading previous posts about gas I am under the impression that gas cylynders are not filled beyond 80% as a safety precaution. Hopefully  some one with greater knowledge than me will confirm this.

On the occasions we have used tunnel, they always check that gas is turn off at bottle, but, no other check. We normally have 2 standard 13kg calor bottles and a "just incase" camping gaz bottle. Never had any query at tunnel.

We have no problems, same as KenandKathleen, they only check that the bottles are turned off
