Apparently the telephone number on this offer takes you on a roundabout and back to the Caravan Club. This is what's reported from another forum:
Trying valiantly to book the Portsmouth/Cherbourgh crossing mentioned in Valda's post. Getting absolutely nowhere. The number takes you back to the Caravan Club and a long wait for anyone to answer. If you try to go to Alan Rogers, the number they give takes you back to the CC with the same result. If you try to speak to Alan rogers direct, a similar result.
Bah! Humbug!
I think someone from the Caravan Club/Alan Rogers is missing out on some business - and should make sure the phone is answered. These days it should offer an 'automatic ring back' service if no one is available to answer the phone.0 -
Hu ValDa, Thanks for the info as this may suit for a trip later in the year. We have always got prices for our trips from both the club and direct from Camping Cheques and have sometimes booked with them,as we did in 2015. This year all the numbers take you back to the club and I have had mixed dealings with staff there, the last,on Saturday, being very good but others not so.
One thing we noticed is that porices have gone up since 31/12-I kept the detials on a screen grab-on one journey we were considering from £281 to £459 with 7 cheques.

Surprised re your comment on Staff we`ve booked ferries etc with the club for the last twenty years, never once had anything but a pleasant and efficient service. We have booked two cossings one late May a second late August for a month each, Portsmouth
/ Caen £221.85 including three Cheques for each crossing. Makes each crossing again around £175, prefer the ACSI system far more choice.0 -
I agree that the ACSI card gives more choice but to get the best deals, for me using BF, it has to be with cheques which I use as well as the ACSI card.
ValDa, is this a phone only deal? AR website not working on tablet.

Tried to find more info on this but nothing on the BF or AR websites. Other forums suggest that the crossing is on a Codor Ferries vessel and max caravan length is 5m. There is also speculation that the 'other routes available' is to catch those whose van
is over 5m which may be quite a few.0 -
The caravan length is stated on the website - but you have to make arrangements by phone and they do take longer caravans. Another poster has reported that they've used that crossing with a 7.25m caravan.
It was my 'somewhat flippant' comment that they may be trying to attract business towards other routes too but I think that view was mistaken!

Good Afternoon.
As you are probably all aware, Alan Rogers is now part of The Caravan Club so both entities act as UK distributors of Camping Cheques. The flyer that ValDa refers to was sent by our Alan Rogers team to promote the Condor Ferries Summer route between Portsmouth
and Cherbourg. The route only runs on Sundays from 29 May to 28 Aug 2016 and operates with a conventional ship so there`s no vehicle size restrictions unlike some of the other Condor vessels operating to the Channel Islands. As most of you have commented,
this package price is fantastic if you can travel Sunday to Sunday. If you need to travel on other days of the week then we have other package deals on the Brittany Ferries routes with some of the best prices on Portsmouth-Caen (outbound afternoon sailing
and morning inbound sailing) and also their Poole-Cherbourg route.Kind Regards
Kimberley

I'm just bringing this back to the top again, as people may want to read the terms and conditions - particularly Kimberley's reply about the length of caravans, as there is an assumption that longer caravans and motorhomes are not accepted.

We booked Pool to Cherboug late 24th Aug returning 4 Sept
14 cheques for the price of 12 £391 return. We booed through the caravan club as we have for the past few years and have always had great service. Last year we changed the caravan after booking, there was suposed to be a fee to change but the lovely lady waved that as we letthem know in good time.
I have not found any company which has come close to the CC price for the past 4 years.
I have tried to get a price from AR online but can only get a price for cheques with no choice for choosing a ferry!!!
maybe its because they are now part of the CC as per a post above.

The offer mentioned in my original post is only available by phoning the number as outlined in the orignal offer - not on line, not direct from the ferry operator, just via the phone number quoted: "Telephone
01342 488360 for details"0
